About me
Hello!
I completed my Master's in Biomedical Engineering,
specializing in MedTech Innovation & Entrepreneurship.
I originally grew up in Toronto, Canada after my family and I immigrated in 2001 from India, by way of the Middle East.
In 2020 I graduated from the University of Toronto and relocated to North Carolina to complete my Post-Bacc at UNC-Greensboro.
In Greensboro, I volunteered for a non-profit creating recreational prosthetic limbs for children using 3D printers. This experience became my cornerstone in pursuing graduate school and brought me to the Joint Department of Biomedical Engineering at NC State and UNC!
Skills
Project 1:
HAPIER Solutions Inc.
The main focus of our graduate program, was developing a medical device to address Hospital Acquired Pressure Injuries (HAPIs)
May 2022, we embarked on a Discovery Phase partaking in over 200 hours of Clinical Immersion interviewing healthcare providers, observing surgical procedures and shadowing in the hospital.
We identified a crucial need to address and have successfully designed, built and tested our first functional prototype.
We are currently developing a path to market strategy including FDA classification, patent creation and funding recruitment
Project 2:
Catheter Introducer System
We spent a semester building a
Catheter Introducer System
from concept to a fully assembled
and packaged product
It gave us an opportunity to
practice CAD, 3D Printing and
Plastic Injection Molding Techniques.
Also, an opportunity to learn
industry standard design and
manufacturing practices
Project 3:
BioSensys
While 2/3 of our curriculum focuses on Engineering based courses.
The remainder is business driven, allowing us to take 3 MBA courses during our program.
The second medical device project I am working on focuses on the commercialization of an NC State Patented technology to a
medical device for early Sepsis detection
We are currently finalizing our proof of concept as we apply to SBIR grants.
